Levi

Ann Spencer from Santa Margarita, Calif., adopted a gelded wild horse in 1994.  The horse was gathered from the Black Rock Herd Management Area in northwestern Nevada.

Ann named the gelding Leviticus--Levi for short. Levi grew to be a tall, handsome bay horse (see picture to the right). In October 2000, the magazine Ride! had an article and photos about Ann and Levi training for dressage.  The August 2002 issue of Ride! followed up with another article and the great success the two are enjoying in dressage competition.

In April 2001, they won the United States Dressage Federation's All Breed Award for 2001 at Third Level.

As Levi moves up in levels in dressage competition, so do his tastes in treats.  The first three years he enjoyed corn cobs, orange and banana peels, lettuce leaves and apple cores.  Now, he prefers store bought Mrs. Pasture's cookies and apple wafers!
