Student job opportunities may be available at any duty location throughout BLM
in Nevada.

If student positions become available, the BLM Nevada will
generally perform the following in order to fill the positions:
January – March: Recruit, market and/or advertise the student positions.
February – April: Accept student applications.
April – May: Evaluate applications and refer qualified applicants to the
Selecting Official.
April – May: Refer qualified applicants to the Selecting Official for interviews
/ selections.
May – June: Students typically report for work; dependent upon the end of the
school term.
May – September: Students typically work; also dependent upon the start of the
school term.

In order to apply for an available SEEP Program position, view the student
position vacancy of interest and follow the ‘How To Apply’ directions.
Typically, the following items are required for a student application packet
unless specialized experience is required and/or there are specific selective
factors:
--Cover letter with statements of short-term and
long-term career goals and objective.
--Letter of recommendation or three valid references
(if references - include name, association, mailing address, and daytime phone).
--Resume or Form OF-612, Optional Application for
Federal Employment on internet at: (http://www.opm.gov/Forms/html/of.asp).
--Proof of enrollment as a half-time (or part-time)
student.
o A high school student must
provide a copy of current class schedule; legible transcript with cumulative
academic grade point average; and a letter from the academic institution
verifying academic standing (excellent, good, fair, poor).
o A college student must provide a
copy of current course schedule; legible transcript with cumulative academic
grade point average; and a course schedule verifying enrollment for the next
school quarter/semester.
--Form OF-306, Declaration of Federal Employment (http://www.opm.gov/Forms/html/of.asp).
--Form DI-1935, Applicant Background Survey (http://www.doi.gov/diversity/di_1935.htm)
– optional.
--Form DD-214, Claim for Veterans Preference (if
applicable).
