White River Ranch Term Permit Renewal

The proposal is to fully process the renewal of the term grazing permit for White River Ranches on the Tom Plain (0803) and McQueen Flat (0805) Allotments. The current grazing term permit for the Tom Plain Allotment will expire on 10/31/15. The current grazing term permit for the McQueen Flat Allotment will expire on 11/30/08. Cattle are the authorized kind of livestock. The issuance of the term grazing permit would be for a period of ten years. The term permit for the Tom Plain Allotment currently authorizes 6,039 cattle AUMs from March 1 to February 28. The term permit for the McQueen Flat Allotment currently authorizes 496 cattle AUMs from April 15 to November 15. The grazing permit area occurs entirely within White Pine County, and is situated in the west central portion of the Ely District BLM, approximately 40 miles west of Ely, Nevada. The permit area occurs within the Jakes Valley (#129), White River North (#160A), and White River Central (#160B) Watersheds. The term permit will be issued in accordance with Title 43 CFR 4130.2(a), "Grazing permits or leases shall be issued to qualified applicants to authorize use on the public lands and other lands under the administration of the Bureau of Land Management that are designated as available for livestock grazing through land use plans."
