R.W.D. Currant Creek, L.L.C Term Permit Renewal

The proposal is to fully process the renewal of the term grazing permit for R.W.D. Currant Creek, L.L.C. on the Duckwater (00701) and Currant Ranch (00153) Allotments. Within the Duckwater Allotment, the permit includes use in the Broom Canyon/North Railroad Valley (Broom Canyon), and Red Mountain Use Areas. The current grazing term permit for the Duckwater and Currant Ranch Allotments will expire on 02/28/2013. Cattle are the authorized kind of livestock. The issuance of the term grazing permit would be for a period of ten years. The term permit for the Duckwater Allotment currently authorizes 2,356 cattle AUMs from March 1 to June 15 and November 1 to February 28. The term permit for the Currant Ranch Allotment currently authorizes 282 cattle AUMs from March 1 to May 31 and November 1 to February 28. The grazing permit area occurs entirely within Nye County, and is situated in the west portion of the Ely District BLM, approximately 50 miles west of Ely, Nevada. The Broom Canyon and Red Mountain Use Areas occur within the Railroad Valley (#156) Watershed. The term permit will be issued in accordance with Title 43 CFR 4130.2(a), "Grazing permits or leases shall be issued to qualified applicants to authorize use on the public lands and other lands under the administration of the Bureau of Land Management that are designated as available for livestock grazing through land use plans."
