This range improvement project would be a roughly rectangular riparian protection fence with a three mile perimeter. Two 100 yard water pipelines are planned to pipe water from a pre existing water pipeline outside the fence for livestock and wildlife. The fence and water development would occur entirely on public lands within White Pine County, on the Thirty mile Spring Grazing Allotment, in the Gleason Creek Watershed, approximately 14 miles northwest of Ely, Nevada. The fence would be built to wildlife specifications and standard operating procedures. The fence would occur primarily in mountain sagebrush range. Two cattleguards would be installed on an existing two track road in the area. The need for the proposed action is to improve rangeland health, watershed condition, and plant species composition and production in the Gleason Creek Riparian Corridor.
