Lands and Minerals

The Lands and Minerals Program is a branch of the Nonrenewable Division of the Ely Field Office. The Bureau of Land Management's Land and Minerals Records (LR2000) database is accessible on a web site that enables the public to access land and mineral records.

The Lands Team
The Lands Team serves the public in administrating many different types of lands actions. Land actions include:
  • Rights-of-Ways
  • Land Sales
  • Land Exchanges
  • Land Acquisitions
  • Leases and permits
  • Legislative directives
The Minerals Team
The Minerals Team serves the public in administrating mineral actions and integrating environmentally responsible exploration and removal of solid and fluid minerals on public land. Mineral actions on public lands include:
  • Oil, gas, and geothermal leasing
  • Notices of intent to explore for fluid minerals
  • Applications for permits to drill for fluid minerals
  • Mineral material sales for salable minerals
  • Mining notices for hard rock minerals
  • Mining plans for hard rock minerals
