In order to process your request for a pass, BLM will
need the license number (s), make & model of the vehicle (s) you wish to register.
The annual pass is valid for two licensed vehicles
registered to the same address; however, both registered vehicles need
a separate pass (weekly or annual) if visiting Sand Mountain on the same
day. Every vehicle must have a pass onsite.
If you no longer own a vehicle listed on the annual
pass, you may transfer the pass to another vehicle registered to the same
address. Please call our office to make these changes.
Annual and weekly passes are valid for only one unit per
day.
There are no date changes allowed on weekly passes;
weekly passes are non-transferable. All passes are
non-refundable.
A unit requiring a fee is defined as a registered
street-legal vehicle and if attached, a trailer, vehicle in tow, 5th
wheel, etc. The use fee covers all people within that unit.
The fee sticker will be displayed upon the vehicle's rear view mirror
while at Sand Mountain.
Fee revenues collected at Sand Mountain focus on visitor
services, facility maintenance and resource protection.
Each year the Carson City Field Office will publish how these fees were
spent for public review.
