PALLETS ANYONE?

The Bureau of Land Management Winnemucca Field Office is offering wood pallets free of charge to anyone willing to haul them away. "We've accumulated over 300 pallets from warehouse deliveries and need to dispose of them," said BLM Fire Management Officer Jeff Fedrizzi. "We would rather see them put to good use by people in the community who may have a need for them – or a need for the wood in them – than throw them away in the landfill."

The pallets are neatly stacked next to the chain link fence at the southwest corner of the parking lot on the west side of the Winnemucca BLM Office located at 5100 East Winnemucca Blvd. "We've tried to make them easily accessible to anyone who wants them," said Fedrizzi. "There are no gates to go through and no need to check in at our office. All we ask is that people keep their eyes open for other vehicles when driving around the parking lot. And for those who might want to use the pallets for firewood, please remember that saws and nails don't mix!"

Additional information is available by contacting Terri Barton at the Winnemucca BLM office at 775-623-1500.
