CHRISTMAS TREE PERMITS AVAILABLE

Christmas Tree Permits go on sale Monday, November 22nd. The permits cost $3 and can be purchased in person in Winnemucca at the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Winnemucca Field Office, 5100 E. Winnemucca Blvd. and in Lovelock at the Pershing County Farm Service Agency Office at 1155 Lovelock Ave. (just off American Blvd.). The permits authorize the cutting of one Pinyon or Juniper tree for use as a Christmas tree in a tree-cutting area located in the Fencemaker Canyon area of the Stillwater Range about 65 miles south of Winnemucca and 35 miles east of Lovelock. Trees marked as Seed Trees cannot be cut. An information sheet and map will be distributed with each permit.

The permits can also be purchased by mail from the Winnemucca BLM Office at 5100 East Winnemucca Blvd., Winnemucca NV 89445-2921. For further information, please call Heather Bland at the Winnemucca BLM office at 775-623-1500 or Teresa Brinkerhoff at the Pershing County FSA Office at 775-273-2922.
