ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT PREPARED FOR COYOTE HILLS GUZZLER

The Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) Winnemucca Field Office has prepared an Environmental Assessment (EA) in response to a proposal received from the Nevada Department of Wildlife. The EA analyzes potential impacts from the proposed action that would involve the construction of a 3,600 gallon wildlife water catchment (guzzler) in the Coyote Hills near Kings River Valley, Humboldt County, Nevada.

The proposed catchment would be constructed for use primarily by pronghorn antelope, but would also be available for use by all wildlife including non-game and small game species.

The EA is currently available at the Winnemucca Field Office. For further information on the proposed project, please contact Ken Detweiler, Wildlife Biologist, at the Winnemucca Field Office (775)623-1500.
