Winnemucca Field Office.

This Web site is designed to keep you informed as we, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), evaluate alternative management ideas for the lands managed by the Winnemucca Field Office (map). Please join us in the planning process for this RMP, which covers 7,260,001 acres of BLM-administered land in Humboldt, Pershing, Washoe, Lyon, and Churchill Counties in northwestern Nevada. Much of the BLM-administered land consists of scattered tracts intermingled with State of Nevada, private, tribal, and other federally owned lands not administered by the BLM.

The WFO RMP planning process officially began on March 25, 2005, with the publication in the Federal Register of the Notice of Intent to Prepare a Resource Management Plan. During the projected three-year planning and preparation process of the RMP/EIS, we intend to collaborate with the public to determine current resource conditions, changes needed in managing these resources, and desired conditions for the public lands that the Field Office manages.

What's New

Planning Documents are divided into two categories, Background Documents and RMP Documents. Background documents are historical documents that have been produced by the Winnemucca Field Office. They serve as supporting documentation for the RMP. RMP documents are those that have been produced during the RMP process. Both sets of documents are part of the administrative record. Available documents are the Areas of Critical Environmental Concern (ACEC) Assessment Report, Analysis of Management Situation, the Final Scoping Report, the Socioeconomic Report, the Final Mineral Assessment Report, and the RMP Notice of Intent.
