Nevada Groundwater Projects Office
The BLM Nevada State Director established the Nevada Groundwater Projects Office to facilitate the preparation of environmental impact statements for three applications for rights-of-way for the placement of surface facilities to develop and transport water across public lands. The surface facilities include wells, roads, pipelines, powerlines and storage tanks. The Southern Nevada Water Authority's application proposes to develop and transport water from White Pine, Lincoln and Clark counties to Southern Nevada. The two Lincoln County right-of-way applications propose to develop and transport water within the county.

During 2004, the Lincoln County Land Act established several corridors for the purposes of groundwater development and transmission (see map). These corridors are depicted on this map along with the 3 projects:
